Give any voice a British accent
In Lazybird Studio, every voice can speak with a British accent. Select a block, open its settings and set Accent to British English: an American voice, a character voice or your own cloned voice then reads the text in a British accent. The last sample above is the Donald Trump voice with the British English accent. Set the accent back to Auto for the voice's own accent, or pick American English to go the other way.
Tips for a natural British accent
- Use British words. The voice reads your words as written, so a British script sounds more natural: "flat" for apartment, "holiday" for vacation, "queue" for line, "mum" for mom.
- Write for the ear. Short sentences with one idea each are easier to follow.
- Pace it with punctuation. A comma gives a short pause, a period a longer one.
- Spell things the way they're said. Write out numbers, dates and unusual names, then regenerate any sentence that doesn't land.
Where to use a British accent voice
Use British text to speech for YouTube videos and explainers, ads and product videos, audiobooks and bedtime stories, e-learning and English lessons, podcasts, games and fan projects. Every Lazybird voice also reads other languages: type your script in Spanish, French, Hindi or another language and the same voice reads it.
