Use Lazybird in ChatGPT and Claude

Connect Lazybird to your AI assistant and make voiceovers without leaving the chat. Ask for a voice, paste a script, and get back an MP3 you can play or download.

Connector URL: https://api.lazybird.app/mcp

How it works

  1. 1
    Add the connector

Add https://api.lazybird.app/mcp as a custom connector (remote MCP server) in ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP client.

  2. 2
    Sign in to Lazybird

Sign in with your Lazybird account and click Allow. The assistant never sees your password, payment details or API keys.

  3. 3
    Ask for a voiceover

Describe the voice you want and paste your script. The assistant picks a voice, generates the speech and gives you the MP3 link.

What the assistant can do

  • Search voices: find a voice in the library of 500+ AI voices in 150+ languages and accents, plus your own cloned or designed voices.
  • Generate speech: turn a script into a ready-to-use MP3 in the voice you choose.
  • Design a voice: create a new voice from a description such as age, accent, tone and energy, and hear a sample line.
  • Save a voice: add a designed voice to your library, or clone one from a clear 10–60 second recording of a single speaker. Only clone voices you have the right to use.
  • Check your account: see your plan and how many characters you have left.

Things to try

  • "Find a warm British female narrator and read this intro for my podcast."
  • "Turn this product description into a 30-second voiceover in Spanish."
  • "Design a gravelly old wizard voice for my game and save it to my library."
  • "How many characters do I have left this month?"

Add Lazybird to ChatGPT

ChatGPT adds custom connectors through developer mode. Whether you can turn it on depends on your ChatGPT plan and, for work accounts, your workspace settings. OpenAI renames these menus from time to time, so if a step looks different, search ChatGPT's help for "developer mode".

  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Create a new app or connector and give it a name, such as Lazybird.
  3. Paste the URL https://api.lazybird.app/mcp and choose OAuth for authentication.
  4. Sign in to Lazybird when asked and click Allow.
  5. In a new chat, add Lazybird from the tools menu and ask for your voiceover.

Add Lazybird to Claude

Custom connectors work on claude.ai and in Claude Desktop. They're available on every Claude plan; the Free plan allows one custom connector.

  1. Go to Customize → Connectors.
  2. Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Lazybird, paste https://api.lazybird.app/mcp and click Continue.
  4. Sign in to Lazybird when asked and click Allow.
  5. In a chat, click + at the lower left, open Connectors and make sure Lazybird is on.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner first adds the connector in Organization settings → Connectors. Members then find it under Customize → Connectors and click Connect.

Claude Code and other MCP clients

In Claude Code, add the server from your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http lazybird https://api.lazybird.app/mcp

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code and choose Lazybird to sign in.

Any other client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can use the same URL.

If you'd rather have a coding agent call the Lazybird Speech API directly with an API key, install the Lazybird skill instead:
